Limni Kourna, in translation Lake Kourna (also spelled Lake Kournas), is Crete’s only freshwater lake. It’s an alkali-type lake, with a nature preserve in a dreamlike setting, which boasts hiking paths, lakeside beach, paddleboats, and tavernas.
